In
Cameroon Biya Threatens To
Kill For Election But UN
DiCarlo Skips It For Nigeria
By Matthew
Russell Lee, CJR PFT NYP
UN GATE, Jan 18 –
Cameroon's 38
year ruler Paul
Biya, propped up
by France and
now for three
years by
corrupt UN Secretary
General
Antonio
Guterres who
cut a deal
with Biya for his
support as
chair of the
UN Budget
Committee, on
New Years Eve
made threats
to kill more
people.
And from
Guterres, who
had then
been missing
from New York
for three
weeks, and now
again, similar
to Biya's
long convalescences in
Geneva?
Nothing. Absolute
silent. And
no answers by
his spokespeople
Stephane Dujarric
and Melissa
Fleming, who continue
Guterres'
ghoulish ban
on Inner City
Press even
entering the
UN to ask
questions.
Nor did
Guterres' UNSG
Rosemary
DiCarlo
answer, when
she online
bragging was
replied
to. Instead,
this:
"Under-Secretary-General
for Political
and
Peacebuilding
Affairs (DPPA)
Rosemary A.
DiCarlo today
concluded her
first official
visit to West
Africa with a
stop in
Burkina Faso.
The five-day
visit also
took the
Under-Secretary-General
to Senegal,
Guinea Bissau,
Niger and
Nigeria.
Under-Secretary-General
DiCarlo,
accompanied by
Special
Representative
of the
Secretary-General
and Head of
the United
Nations Office
for West
Africa and the
Sahel (UNOWAS)
Mohamed Ibn
Chambas...In
Nigeria, Ms.
Di Carlo had
meetings with
the Minister
of State in
the Ministry
of Foreign
Affairs, the
UNCT and the
diplomatic
corps,
focusing on
Nigeria’s
response to
security,
humanitarian
and
development
challenges
within the
country and in
the Lake Chad
Basin and the
support the UN
provides...
Noting that
several
countries in
the region
will undertake
election
processes, the
Under-Secretary-General
stressed the
need for all
stakeholders
to engage in
peaceful,
credible and
transparent
electoral
processes and
to refrain
from any acts
of violence.
She emphasized
that
successful
electoral
processes are
an integral
part of
democratic
consolidation
and the rule
of law, which
are in turn
critical to
sustaining
peace and
development in
the region."
And nothing on
Cameroon.
Guterres' corruption
spreads, and DiCarlo
is complicit.
This was
from Biya's
speech, robo
tweeted out by
others just
like Guterres'
saccarine
feed, on Biya's
Twitter
account from
which Biya's
like any
dictator bans
Inner City Press
and others.
Guterres'
spokesman
Stephane
Dujarric also
blocks Inner
City Press, despite
having
promised on
camera
to answer its
questions.
Both will fall
in 2020. But
for the UN to
be run by a
corrupt
censor? This
is a new low.
It is
UNacceptable.
On
September
29 Inner City
Press was sent
another tweet
about
Biya's
platform for
national
dialogue, an
account featuring a
photos of the
grip and grin
between
Guterres and
Biya's
foreign
minister. This is
the result of
Guterres' sold
out diplomacy - a
Potemkin
Village of
fake dialogue
accompanied by
violence
and
censorship. Guterres
is no better
than Biya. At
least Biya is
officially
senile. What
is Guterres'
excuse?
Guterres and his
cronies are
entirely
corrupt. And see
their partners
in censorship,
for example here.
Inner
City Press live
tweeted
the shameful
May UNSC
session and uploaded
Guterres' envoy
Francois
Fall's
failing
statement here.
