EDNY COURTHOUSE,
August 8 – Thirteen
years after indicting Gloria
Rojas Valencia for links to
drug cartels in Mexico and
extraditing her, on August 9,
2022 the Eastern District of
New York prosecutors have a
"status conference" with
Valencia.
The docket
does not reflect what they
have done with her, or she
with them, in the intervening
decade.
She is free on
bond; the complaint spoke of
import of five kilograms and
more of cocaine. And EDNY US
Attorney's Office spokesman
John Marzulli on August 8,
2022 declared that he will not
answer Inner City Press'
questions or provide it with
information he provides to
others, including his former
employer, whether or not these
others report the information.
So much for due
process.
The August 9
proceeding, unilluminated by
this spokesman, is before
District Judge Allyne Ross.
The case is US v.
Valencia, 09-cr-435 (EDNY).
Disclosure: This
was prepared without any
assistance or answers from
Eastern District of New York
US Attorney's Office spokesman
John Marzulli, ex-Daily
News, who without
hearing or appeal on August
8, 2022 decreed that
said "his" / EDNY's
publicly-funded information
will henceforth go to some
(including outside of New
York) but not others, or
other, like NYC-based Inner
City Press. We'll have more on
this.
