In EDNY Man Suing For Illegal Police Search Describes Fire Door in NYCHA Housing PSA3

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

EDNY COURTHOUSE, Dec 27 – In the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York at noon on December 27, a proceeding was held by District Judge Pamela K. Chen in a case for illegal police search of an apartment in public housing. Inner City Press covered it.

The plaintiff, Mark A. Smith, described for Judge Chen the fire door to his apartment in NYCHA housing, and that there had already been 90th Precinct and PSA-3 officers in the apartment before the warrant was signed and executed.

Judge Chen set a briefing schedule and asked that the papers first be served on the other party and then sent to her by mail, so she doesn't just burn out her print. Unfortunately I prefer paper, she said.

The case is Smith v. Famiano, 17-cv-6535, EDNY (Chen).
