EDNY MAG COURT
EXCLUSIVE, Sept 22 - In
the U.S. District Court for
the Eastern District of New
York on September 22, a bond
proceeding was held by
Magistrate Judge Cheryl L.
Pollak on Ms. Francis Zolata,
charged with selling meth.
Inner City Press was there,
the only media in the Mag
Court, in EDNY too.
Zolata's
CJA attorney had arranged for
two suretors: Zolata's mother
Berla Cadang of Jamaica,
Queens and Zolata's daughter
Arthea of Springfield Garden.
(Judge Pollack asked her to
say the name of the town
twice).
For the $75,000
bond, Arthea said she makes
$70,000 a year selling things
on Amazon. Berla Cadang is
retired.
The bond was
accepted, and the warnings
given. Zolata was not present.
Everyone was wearing a mask,
which as of September 23
remains required ONLY in this
Arraignment Court. Inner City
Press will have a separate
article on that;it awaits
decision on its application to
bring in electronics like
other media, to further report
including on the otherwise
un(der)reported Arraignment
Court.
This case is US
v. Zolata, 22-mj-1028
(Pollack)
