EDNY COURTHOUSE,
Dec 27 – In the U.S. District
Court for the Eastern District
of New York on the morning of
December 29, a pre-trial
conference was held by Judge
Pamela K. Chen in the case of
Kaiam Donovan. It was held
with a public call-in line;
Inner City Press called in.
Donovan is charged
with one count of conspiring
to distribute and possess with
intent to distribute cocaine
base and one count of
distributing and possessing
with to distribute cocaine
base, in violation of 21
U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1) and 846.
His trial
was to start on January 3 -
but Judge Chen said that will
not be possible, given COVID /
Omicron among the lawyers and
investigators on the case.
They asked whether EDNY's
quarantine guidance is five
days; an alternate date of
February 9 was set.

January 4 trial, before Judge
Denise L. Cote, is still set
