UNITED

updated --
Egypt made the
request for a
Security
Council
meeting on
Gaza, because
Palestine's
letter did
not. Inner
City Press has
obtained both
letters, and
is putting
them online
here: Palestine's
letter,
than Egypt's
letter.
Egypt's
Permanent
Representative
wrote that on
instructions
from his
government, he
has requested
an urgent
meeting of the
Security
Council.
Palestine's
letter
did not make
that request,
and source
have
exclusively
described in
detail to
Inner City
Press a
dust-up
between
Palestine and
Egypt. A
transcript of
Palestine's
Riyad
Mansour's
stakeout is here.

Good
afternoon,
I just had a
brief meeting
a few minutes
ago with the
President of
Security
Council. I
gave him a
letter about
this latest
aggression by
Israel against
our people in
the Gaza
strip. [more]

resolution to

State of the
UN, here.
Update
of
6:54 pm:
Mansour came
out and said
that "Morocco"
has also
requested a
meeting -- he
does not
mention Egypt.
Significant.
