UN GATE, August
27 – How useless is Antonio
Guterres as UN Secretary
General? Well, on Libya on
August 27, 2022 after a series
of junkets and failures of UN
conferences, still banning
Inner City Press, he issued
this:
"The
Secretary-General is following
with deep concern reports of
violent clashes in Tripoli
causing civilian casualties
and destruction of civilian
infrastructure.
The Secretary-General calls on
the parties to protect
civilians and refrain from
taking any actions that could
escalate tensions and deepen
divisions. Stéphane
Dujarric, Spokesman for the
Secretary-General
New York, 27 August 2022."
Dujarric is a censor, not a
spokesman
Previously
from Dujarric,
this: "The
Secretary-General
spoke
separately
with the
President of
the Presidency
Council
designate, Mr.
Mohammad
Younes Menfi,
and the Prime
Minister
designate of
the State of
Libya, Mr.
Abdul Hamid
Mohammed
Dbeibah.
The
Secretary-General
congratulated
Mr. Menfi and
Mr. Dbeibah on
their recent
designation by
members of the
Libyan
Political
Dialogue
Forum. The
Secretary-General
stressed the
importance of
ensuring that
the new
executive
authority
works towards
the holding of
national
elections on
24 December
2021....
The
Secretary-General
underscored
the importance
of ensuring
that the new
government
represents the
interests of
all Libyans
and welcomed
the commitment
of the Prime
Minister
designate to
include at
least 30 per
cent women in
the new
government." This
last from the
old man who
stole the SG
post from
women in 2016,
and now seeks
to steal it
again, while
banning the
Press.
#DumpGuterres.
On
January 15
Inner City
Press reported
that one of
the few
credible UN
officials Jan
Kubis will be
sent to Libya
by desperate
Guterres, with no envoy
on Western
Sahara and
still banning
Inner City
Press.
Now on
January
18, streaming
from a
bedroom
with a bunk bed,
Guterres'
spokesman
Stephane
Dujarric said,
"United
Nations
Secretary-General
António
Guterres
announced
today the
appointment of
Ján Kubiš of
Slovakia as
his Special
Envoy on Libya
and Head of
the United
Nations
Support
Mission in
Libya
(UNSMIL).
This position
is established
pursuant to
Security
Council
resolution
2542
(2020).
The
Secretary-General
is grateful
for the
commitment and
outstanding
leadership of
Acting Special
Representative
Stephanie T.
Williams of
the United
States in
moving the
political
process
forward in
Libya.
Mr. Kubiš, who
has served as
Special
Coordinator
for Lebanon,
Office of the
United Nations
Special
Coordinator
for Lebanon
(UNSCOL) since
2019... Mr.
Kubiš also
served as the
European
Union’s
Special
Representative
for Central
Asia with the
office in
Brussels and
as the
Personal
Representative
of the
Chairman-in-Office
of OSCE for
Central Asia."
We'll
have more on
this.
