SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 11 -- Beyond Ghislaine Maxwell,
now gunning for a new trial based on Juror
#50, and beyond Doctor Ricardo Cruciani aiming
for a public-funded sex abuse defense despite
owning two properties in New Jersey and
Pennsylvania, inching toward trial in SDNY was
US v. Robert Hadden, whom Kurt had dubbed
Columbia's Dirty Doc.
Hadden,
too, had tried for a taxpayer funded lawyer,
even as Columbia was paying $71 million in a
civil suit in SDNY by his victims.
Kurt on January 11 covered that civil
suit as well; almost no one else did. It was
flying under the radar before a Magistrate
Judge, who was shepherding it toward a
closed-door settlement conference.
Not
only could the press not attend that
conference, set for five days before Hadden'
delayed criminal trial was to begin -- even
most of the remaining known victims could not,
only five selected representatives.
Kurt noted there was no Crime Victims Rights
Act on the civil side. The only remedy, he
thought, would be to try to throw a spotlight
on it. #MirroringMaxwell. See #MaxwellMaxwell.
