LITERARY SDNY,
June 27 – As Josh Schulte
plodded on with his cross
examination, today of FBI
agent Michael Berger, it
became a surreal way of
testifying.
Schulte asked
Berger, did you know that I
often played League of Legends
the video game until 4
am?
Berger
deadpanned, That wasn't part
of my forensic investigation.
But he had to
admit a few times they had not
direct evidence that Schulte
was the source of the leak to
Wikileaks.
Next up
would be Jeremy Weber, and
Schulte told Judge Furman he
might have to ask Weber about
the "bar tender."
Kurt Wheelock
perked up - now things might
get back into the nerf gun
battles that features so
prominently in the first
trial, and seemed to have led
to the mistrial.
The
Assistant US Attorney during
an absence of the jurors - one
of whom already had come down
with COVID - complained to
Judge Furman about the length
of Schulte's cross
examinations, how they now
couldn't be able to close by
the end of this the third week
of trial.
Then would come
Schulte's witnesses, however
many Judge Furman might allow.
Wheelock was still hoping for
Mike Pompeo. There was
something about Wikileaks.
