LITERARY EDNY,
Oct 3 – Tom Barrack wanted to
be an ambassador. At least
that's what Rex Tillerson
said.
Steve Calk
had wanted that too, and gave
away FDIC insured funds from
his military bank to Paul
Manafort in the pursuit. Calk
had mentioned the US
Ambassador to the UN position;
Tillerson had appeared,
dinosaur-like, at the UN while
Kurt Wheelock was still
allowed in. Now all that was
gone.
Now, as it
happened, the District
Executive's Office of the U.S.
District Court for the Eastern
District of New York was
itself getting UN-like. Maybe
they didn't have decadent
UAE-funded cocktail parties
and even a bar inside the
building, like the UN did.
But they
were acting lawlessly: they
had an application for a press
pass to cover a trial, but
didn't say what the rules or
standards were. Then they left
one - yeah, one - hanging as
the trial unfolded, now for 13
days.
The morning
of Tillerson's testimony,
Inner City Press called EDNY
District Executive Eugene J.
Corcoran's office. The
questions ran into who was
listed on the website, and by
implication corporate
structure.
That's not in the
First Amendment, Kurt Wheelock
fumed. But what could he do?
