UN announced
the death of
Rwandan police
officer
Bisangwa
Hassan while
serving with
the UN
Mission in
Haiti,
MINUSTAH, but
did not
provide
details.
On
Friday in New
York, Inner
City Press
asked UN
spokesman
Martin
Nesirky how it
was that
Bisangwa
Hassan died. Video

Nesirky said
it is being
investigated,
but that he
would
provide
further
details after
the briefing.

UN Mission in
Haiti has
reported that
a Formed
Police Unit
officer
has died after
suffering a
gunshot wound
to the head on
the evening
of 19
September
while on duty
at the former
MINUSTAH
military
compound in
JEREMIE (in
the Grand Anse
Department).
An
investigation
into the
matter is
ongoing.
