UNITED
NATIONS,
February 27 –
The day after
the failure of
a
Moroccan-proposed
UN Security
Council press
statement on
the death of
Palestine's
Arafat Jaradat
in Israeli
detention, the
Pakistani
president of
the
Non-Aligned
Movement
caucus will
speak on the
topic
for the caucus
at the UNSC
stakeout,
Inner City
Press learned
Wednesday
morning.
In
the run-up to
a UNSC meeting
about Syria,
Inner City
Press was told
by the draft's
sponsor,
Moroccan
Permanent
Representative
Loulichki
that Masood
Khan, his
counterpart
from Pakistan
as NAM caucus
president,
will summarize
the position
in this own
words, after
the
Syria meeting.
Palestine's
Mission tells
Inner City
Press it
should happen
near 1 pm.
It
will NOT be a
UNSC statement
or even
elements to
the press --
“otherwise it
would be South
Korea reading
it,” Loulichki
told
Inner City
Press. But it
is a response.
There
was grumbling
Tuesday about
the split in
position on
how to
investigate
the death
between the
UN's Robert
Serry and DPA
chief
Jeffrey
Feltman. Inner
City Press wrote a
fast review,
but intends
to have more.
