SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 27 – Noe Villa Rios is in
jail based on a law
enforcement stop in Missouri
yielding 12 kilograms of
cocaine.
Back on April 20, 2021, U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge John G. Koeltl held a
bond proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
The US
Attorney's Office's detention
filing cites a "steal
narcotics press," in a Stash
House the defendant was living
in.
The defense
attorney, arguing for release,
emphasized that the Stash
House had common areas.
Judge Koeltl
denied release.
Now on July 27,
Judge Koeltl held a conference
on and with co-defendant
Alfredo Rodriguez. It emerged
that a guilty plea may be in
the offing. Judge Koeltl said
he liked to take his own pleas
and will in this case, unless
it's in the last two weeks of
August. In any event a
September 28 further
conference was set.
The overall case
is US v. Beltre, 21-cr-155
(Koeltl)
