SDNY
COURTHOUSE, May 20 –
Manuel de Jesus Rosario sued
Jose Palma and his 251 East
123rd Street Realty for unpaid
wages.
He won a judgment
of $89,670. But the underlying
building was transferred into
an Irrevocable Trust,
preventing attachment.
On May 20,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Jed S. Rakoff held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The plaintiff is moving for
summary judgment, but the
defendants said there are
tryable issues of fact.
Judge Rakoff
asked questions, thanked the
lawyers for appearing on short
notice, and promised a
decision by the end of June if
not before.
The case is
Rosario v. 251 E. 123rd St.
Realty, LLC et al., 20-cv-7387
