SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 2 – Aleksey Belyakov, a
photographer, filed a lawsuit
against Rasolli Footwear Corp.
for allegedly violating his
copyright in
photographs.
On June 30,
2022 U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Denise L. Cote held
a proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge Cote
asked plaintiff's counsel why
he had said it was not related
to another case, and reminded
him of his Rule 11
duties.
She ordered that
he by July 15 show cause why
the case should not be
dismissed for "one or more of
the following reasons" - the
copyright registration
attached does not cover the
photos that are the subject
matter of the complaint; the
claims are barred by the
statute of limitations or "the
failure to disclose the
related case on the civil
cover sheet."
This case is
Belyakov v. Rasolli Footwear
Corp., 22-cv-2515 (Cote)
