SDNY COURT
Exclusive follow up, Jan 6 –
In the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York on January 6, a detention
or release proceeding was held
by Magistrate Judge Robert W.
Lehrburger on Samuel Valles,
picked up on a detainer in
South Carolina back in
November and only presented in
SDNY on January 6.
The
defendant's assigned Federal
Defender argued for his
release on bond, saying that
he had two daughters, 19 and
20, waiting for him in The
Bronx.
Judge
Lehburger ordered Valles
detained. There will be status
conference on January 19
before District Judge Valerie
E. Caproni. Inner City Press
said it would cover it, and
did.
Judge Caproni accepted
a guilty plea, and decided
that Valles could be released
pending sentencing. She set
getting a second vaccination
shot as a condition of
release.
The case
is US v. Valles, 14-cr-464
(Caproni)
