SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 11 – Larry Rothchild sued
savings bank Cenlar FSB and
Equifax under the Fair Credit
Reporting Act.
The dispute arose
after fire in the plaintiff's
condominium building left him
temporarily unable to pay his
mortgage.
On
June 10, 2022 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge P.
Kevin Castel held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
After reaching an agreement
with Cenlar FSB, the bank
nevertheless reported him as
"charged off."
Judge Castel
referred the case to
mediation, and set another
conference for September 13 at
noon.
The case is
Rothchild v. Equifax, et al.,
21-cv-8858 (Castel)
