SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 20 – Angel Hernandez and
his wife were assaulted by
three men and three women in
front of 593 East 141st Street
in the South Bronx on March
30, 2018.
Then the police
from the 40th Precinct took
sides and falsely arrested
Hernandez.
He sued.
On March
19, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Gregory H. Woods
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
The City wants to
move for summary judgment,
arguing that "there is no
constitutional right to be
protected by the government
from private violence." They
too cite the video.
The case is
Hernandez, et al., v. City of
New York, et al., 18-cv-6419
(Woods).
