SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 11 – Erik Castro sued
Verizon Wireless and
TransUnion under the Fair
Credit Reporting
Act.
On October
8 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Ronnie Abrams held held
a proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
It took
some time for the proceeding
to start, because Verizon did
not appear. It emerged that 15
minutes before the court
appearance, Verizon has
settled.
Despite attacking
a $368 payment to settle the
underlying account, the
account continued to be
negatively reported two years
later. The remaining counsel
said they get along well.
The case is
Castro v. Verizon Wireless et
al., 21-cv-5768 (Abrams)
