SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 17 – Jesus Antonio
Leon-Segura is charged with
illegal re-entry of the United
States.
On June 17, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge Jed
S. Rakoff had scheduled a
charge of plea proceeding, on
the CourtCall platform. Inner
City Press called it to cover
it.
There were problems with
producing the defendant, then
with setting up the
simultaneous interpretation.
Judge
Rakoff, presiding over a child
sex jury trial that Inner City
Press is also covering, was
understandably frustrated.
He called
off the change of plea
proceeding and said when it is
re-scheduled, everyone should
be on time and be ready.
The case is US v.
Leon-Segura, 20-cr-562
(Rakoff)
