SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 19 – Calico Jack's Cantina
was sued for not paying
overtime or minimum wage. Then
as defendant it delayed on
discovery.
On July 13, U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Paul A. Engelmayer held
a proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
While the
plaintiffs pushed to strike
documents, Judge Engelmayer
said that due to COVID, it was
time to re-set the clock and
get the discovery finished.
He asked
the plaintiff, how much time
do you want to complete the
depositions?
Three months, was
the answer. No, Judge
Engelmayer said, four weeks.
The plaintiffs thanked him.
The case is
Escobar Montiel et al v.
Shamrock Saloon II LLC et al.,
17-cv-5550 (Engelmayer)
