SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 22 – Lisa Tilley and
Kendall Moultrie say they were
fired by Verizon based on
racial discrimination. But
have they sued too
late?
On June 21, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge Jed
S. Rakoff held an oral
argument. Inner City Press
covered it.
Verizon
has filed a motion to dismiss
and on June 21 pushed hard
that the case was too late,
outside of the statute of
limitations.
The plaintiffs'
lawyer said her clients hadn't
know why they were fired until
afterwards.
Judge Rakoff
thanked each side for their
arguments, and said he will
issue a bottom line decision
by June 30. All aspects of the
case are stayed until then.
The case is
Tilley v. Shelton, et al.,
20-cv-10638 (Rakoff)
