Jan 30 – Sarah Valelly
sued Merrill Lynch for being
pushed into a low-interest
Merrill Lynch Direct Deposits
sweep accounts; she wants to
make it a class
action.
On January 28, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Valerie Caproni held a
proceeding. Inner City Press

Judge Caproni
told the parties to decide is
they want a referral to SDNY
Magistrate Judge Ona T. Wang
for a settlement conference.
If not, and if
they don't agree to a stay in
connection settlement
discussions, the motion for
class action certification is
sue by March 4, and reply due
April 15.
