July 15 – Birch
Communications was
investigated for fraud on
consumers by the FCC, and
agreed to pay in a consent
decree.
Then it declared
bankruptcy, and was succeeded
by Fusion Connect, which
didn't want to pay.
On July 15, U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Paul A. Engelmayer held
a proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
It in an
appeal from the bankruptcy
court, whether bankruptcy has
discharge this debt. The US
says no.
