SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 14 –
In a lawsuit
initially
between Mexico
Infrastructure
Finance,
LLC and
The
Corporation of
Hamilton, a
subdivision of
Bermuda, Bank
of New York
Mellon is
involved but
has been
opposing
depositions.
On
November 10,
2022, U.S.
District Court
for the
Southern
District of
New York Judge
Denise L. Cote
held an
in-person
proceeding.
Inner City
Press went and
covered
it.
While
BNY Mellon's
counsel argued
that
depositions
are not
necessary,
plaintiff's
counsel named
two at the
bank who were
involved and
had knowledge.
One,
Regina Jones,
is still at
the bank; the
other has left
but "on good
terms," it was
said.
Both
are now to be
deposed, two
hours each, in
December or at
latest
January. Judge
Cote said it
could be a
one-day trial,
as she has all
direct
testimony in
the form of
affidavit.
The
case is Mexico
Infrastructure
Finance, LLC
v. The
Corporation of
Hamilton et
al.,
17-cv-6424
(Cote)
