SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 17 – Curtis Summit is a
59 year old man who began
working for Equinox as a
boxing instructor in 1997.
When he got older, they fired
him. He sued.
On July
16, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Paul A. Engelmayer
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
Summit's complaint describes
him ordering a peanut butter
smoothie but having a "sex on
the beach" flavored smoothie
counter-proposed. Then he was
falsely accused of yelling
"sex on the beach" in the
health club.
The
parties do not want a
settlement conference. It's
on.
The case is
Summit v. Equinox Holdings,
Inc., 20-cv-4905
(Engelmayer)
