SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 11 – Doral City
Investments, Inc. sued Mt.
Hawley Insurance Company for
water damage coverage. Then it
failed for a time to prosecute
the case.
On
September 8, 2022, U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Jesse M. Furman held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
A new
lawyer showed up for Doral
City, but as noted by Judge
Furman, seemed to know little
about the case. He ordered
that a notice of appearance be
filed by day's end, and a
status report thereafter. He
said he had various tools at
his disposal.
By day's
end, in fact, the new lawyer
filed a letter that "the
parties to this lawsuit have
reached a settlement in
principle... and intend to
submit a stipulation of
dismissal shortly."
The case is Doral
City Investments, Inc. v. Mt.
Hawley Insurance Company,
22-cv-2856 (Furman)
