SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 19 – Sean Wheeler sued
oil and gas company Praxair
Surface Technologies for
racial
discrimination.
On July

the Southern District of New
York Judge Paul A. Engelmayer
held a proceeding. Inner City

Wheeler work at
Praxair's warehouse in
Orangeburg, New York.
He said
operations manager John Gibson
said that African Americans
"should just feel lucky to
have a job."
Another employee
Shane Nelson, he says,
pretended that he was being
robbed by Wheeler.
Judge Engelmayer inquired into
the case, and urged the
parties to talk resolution,
i.e. getting job back.
He said he was
ready to refer the case to
Magistrate Judge Sarah L.
Cave.
It is Wheeler v.
