SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 19 –
A group of law
professors filed complaints or
grievances against Queens
County Assistant District
Attorney. Then, saying they
were retaliated against and
had their First Amendment
rights abridged, they sued.
On October
12, 2022, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Magistrate Judge
Valerie Figueredo held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The complaint
recounts how little discipline
prosecutors face, when they
withhold Brady material or
otherwise abuse their
position.
Judge Figueredo
listened, then said that
monthly status reports going
forward would make sense. She
scheduled the next one for
November 16 at 10 am.
The case is
Civil Rights Corps. et al v.
Cushman et al., 21-cv-9128
(Marrero / Figueredo)
