SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 22 – Mykalai Kontilai was
sued by the SEC for raising
millions to develop a website
for the audition of sports
memorability.
Now he is
repeatedly firing his lawyers.
Meanwhile, in the docket,
"based on Dr. Saben's
findings, will necessitate
holding Veronica Kontilai's
deposition in abeyance until
such time as her psychiatric
condition is
ameliorated."
On July 22,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Chief Magistrate Judge Gabriel
W. Gorenstein held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The
Fifth Amendment was cited,
without getting much traction.
But the defendant is again
moving to fire his counsel.
Judge Gorenstein said he is
suspect.
The case is
United States Securities and
Exchange Commission v.
Collector's Coffee Inc. et
al., 19-cv-4355 (Schofield /
Gorenstein)
