SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 20 – John Brown has been
imprisoned for 31 months on a
crack conspiracy
charges.
On
May 20, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Katherine Polk
Failla held his sentencing
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Brown's lawyer
denied that he had refused or
resisted coming to court,
saying he had only wanted two
bags to put his belongings in
since he will still have to be
quarantined after the
in-person proceeding.
She added that
Brown's mother was addicted to
drugs during her pregnancy
with him.
After Brown
spoke, movingly, Judge Failla
took a break, asking during it
that Brown be allowed to speak
with and touch his family
members present, including
child.
When she
returned, she varied downward
to 98 month imprisonment,
which will apparently be
served in FCI Coleman in
Wildwood, Florida.
The case is USA
v. Brown, et al., 18-cr-744
(Failla)
