SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 27 – Two delis on
Broadway near Columbia
University has veen sued for
not paying overtime and
minimum wage. They were set
for a jury trial starting May
4.
On April
12, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Gregory H. Woods
held a pre-trial conference.
Inner City Press covered
it.
Judge
Woods told the parties about
the procedures amid COVID,
that the trial days would end
at 3:30 or 3:45 pm.
Now in the
record are tax forms, and
proposed jury verdict forms,
including on individual
defendant Rudolfo M. Ovales.
But on April 27,
after a request by one of the
parties, the trial was put off
- all the way to February 14,
2022. So it goes in the time
of COVID.
The case is Alba
et al v. Columbia Gourmet Deli
Corp. et al., 19-cv-4579
