SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 7 – Robert Russo was
incarcerated in the
Metropolitan Correctional
Center in lower Manhattan on
July 10, 2017 when he
criticized another inmate for
smoking K-2 synthetic
marijuana.
Russo was
then brutally assaulted. He
sued.
On January 11, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Edgardo Ramos held a
conference. Inner City Press
covered it.
The relevant
legal standard of care, of
guards to prisoners, was
discussed.
Judge Ramos gave
the defendants until February
1 to file a motion to dismiss.
The case is
Russo v. United States of
America, 20-cv-4999 (Ramos)
