SDNY COURTHOUSE,
August 31 – Bryan
Velazquez, a blind person,
sued Midnight Velvet, Inc. for
having an inaccessible
website, under the ADA. This
is a trend.
On August
30, 2022 U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge John P. Cronan
held a proceeding in this ADA
case. Inner City Press covered
it.
The same firm had
a conference before Judge
Ronnie Abrams the next day.
There is a Newsday case in
EDNY, finding that the ADA
does not apply to website.
Judge Cronan said expert
discovery is due by February
10, 2022.
The case is
Velazquez v. Midnight Velvet,
Inc., 22-cv-04966
(Cronan)
