SDNY COURTHOUSE,
August 16 – Jorge Luis
Rivera-Rivera is charged with
illegal re-entry of the United
States.
On August 16, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge Jed
S. Rakoff held a charge of
plea proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
The
Assistant US Attorney asked
Judge Rakoff to remind that
defendant that he may be
deported.
Judge Rakoff, who
had just finished a proceeding
as Part 1 Judge in which he
allowed release on bond, on
the condition of getting
COVID-19 vaccination, told
Rivera-Rivera he probably will
be deported.
I understand, the
defendant replied.
The case is US v.
Rivera-Rivera, 21-cr-474
(Rakoff)
