SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 3 – Tara R. was a
teacher for the Brentwood
Union Free School District.
Then she got lung cancer. It
spread, and she died.
But Hartford Life
and Accident Insurance Company
did not pay her survivors, who
have sued under ERISA.
On June 3, U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge John G. Koeltl held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge
Koeltl inquired into efforts
to settle the case, and was
told such efforts are ongoing.
One lawyer is taking the
Florida Bar Exam and so some
postponements were agreed to.
It's said
Hartford Life failed to issue
a timely decision on appeal.
So the case is
Thomas R. et al v. Hartford
Life and Accident Insurance
Company, 21-cv-1388 (Koeltl)
