SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Dec 15 – Ceferino Anora sued
Ramon Avena, Marissa Beck and
Oasis Professional Management
for not timely filing his
immigration papers - he sued
under the Trafficking Victims
Protection Act.
Now one
defendant is talking
sanctions.
On December 15
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Kevin N. Fox
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
Roman
Avena's lawyer said he did not
want to invoke the Rule 11
(sanctions) safe harbor, but
was closed to.
Marissa Beck's
attorney Salvador Enriquez Tuy
repeatedly urged the amendment
of the complaint. But,
Avena's counsel said, that
won't solve the problem.
The case is Anora
v. Oasis Professional
Management Group, Ltd. et al.,
19-cv-11732 (Liman / Fox)
