SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Feb 25 – Jinxu Chen sued
L&H Wine & Liquor,
Inc. for failure to pay
overtime. The plaintiff's
counsel wrote in to say "we"
are ready for trial.
On
February 25 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Debra C.
Freeman held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it.
It emerged
that the defendants had not
agreed they were trial ready,
had in fact talked about
another deposition when
contacted. Judge Freeman dug
into the incongruity.
As of this
writing at 8 pm on February
25, in the docket the trial is
set for November 29.
The case is Chen
v. L & H Wine &
Liquor, Inc. et al.,
19-cv-6115 (Gardephe /
Freeman)
