SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 1 – Whole Foods,
owned by Amazon, and its 365
"Organic" brand have been sued
for allegedly falsely
describing "natural vanilla"
in the almond milk they
sell.
On May 1,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Lewis J. Liman held a
conference on the case,
covered by Inner City Press.
The
plaintiff's lawyer reflected
nostalgically on the time
before Coronavirus, when he
was prepared to meet with
Whole Foods executive in
Austin, Texas and discuss it.
Now, he said, he are all
locked down.
Judge Liman in his typically
workman-like way asked about
other vanilla case - it is a
cottage industry - and largely
stayed discovery. Plain
vanilla, indeed.
The case is
Pinkston v. Whole Foods Market
Group, Inc., 19-cv-9362
(Liman).
