SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 5 – Samuel Saunders is
charged with unlawful
transport of firearms. On June
4 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Lorna G. Schofield held
a proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Before Judge Schofield
appeared, her genial deputy
tried to find a trial date.
Federal Defenders said their
main lawyer on the case had a
good relationship with the
defendant and should be
deferred to.
But after
Judge Schofield set the date
for October 19, Saunder asked
to be heard.
He said he wants
to change lawyers.
Judge
Schofield said another
proceeding will be scheduled.
The case is US v. Saunders,
19-cr-679-LGS (Schofield).
