SDNY COURTHOUSE,
August 5 – A group of
defendants is charged with a
romance fraud and money
laundering scheming using
aliases such as Diego
Fransisco who claims he worked
on an oil well and needed
funds to repair the
well.
On August 5, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Katherine Polk Failla held
arraignments. Inner City Press
covered it.
The
defendants, with one defense
counsel not in attendance,
pleaded not guilty.
Another defense
lawyer apologized for
appearing on Zoom from his
car. Judge Failla said during
the pandemic she's seem
lawyers's kids wandering
through.
This case was put
back to November 2 - Election
Day - at 4 pm.
