SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 15 – Allison Ryan
is running for New York City
Council in Manhattan's Second
District, but not on any of
the now big four party lines,
but under the Neighborhood
party banner.
She says
her rights are violated by
recent state election law
changes. She has
sued.
On
April 15, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Lewis J. Liman
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
There was
discussion of the service, or
non-service, of the complaint
(which in the docket is an out
of kilter scan). The
defendants' lawyer said that
in light of COVID, the Board
of Elections has been
accepting service of process
and petitions by e-mail.
It
is COVID that has been used to
justify the electoral law
changes, the complaint points
out.
The case is Ryan
v. Cuomo, et al., 21-cv-3192
(Liman)
