SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 12 – While
many or even
most cases in
the
Magistrates
Court of the U.S.
District Court
for the
Southern
District of
New York are
sealed or have
case numbers
given only
later, on September
12
Magistrate
Judge James
L. Cott near 7
pm processed a
drug defendant
whose name was
not even
spelled,
though he had
a private
lawyer and
five
supporters in
the gallery
where Inner
City Press was
the only
media.
Earlier
on September
12 three
defendants
were presented
on a narcotics
conspiracy -
but hours
later their
case 19-cr-621
was still
listed as
"sealed" on
PACER. There
were four
lawyers.
]
Edwin
Almonte had
Irwin Cohen
and got out on
$100,000 bond.
Giovanni
Pacheco had
CJA Mr Roth
and got out on
$50,000 bond.
Edoel Guerrero
had two
lawyers,
including
mentee
Jacqueline
Sistaro (it
sounded like)
arrested
nearly 24
hours before
and now case
sealed. Inner
City Press
aims to have
more on this.
Inner City Press
will continue to cover this
and other SDNY and 2nd Circuit
cases - watch this site, and there is
more on
Patreon, here.
