SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 25 – Ramos Mejia sued
the New York City Health &
Hospitals but is now having
difficulty complying with
discovery orders.
On April 23, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Lewis J. Liman, fresh off his
Guo Wengui bench trial, held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge
Liman told Mejia he would have
to entertain the defendants'
oral motion to dismiss based
on failure to follow discovery
orders.
Mejia asked
Judge Liman if it would be OK
if he returned to hospitals to
sign the requests to release
medical records.
Judge Liman
suggested he speak with the
defendant's counsel and try to
come into compliance with the
discovery orders.
The case is Mejia
v. New York City Health &
Hospitals, et al., 16-cv-9706
(Liman)
