SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 15 – Juan Rivera is
charged with a Violation of
Supervised Release in
connection with events around
East 168th Street in The
Bronx, and he is getting an
extended hearing on
it.
On September 15 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge Jed
S. Rakoff held a hearing.
Inner City Press covered
it.
A police
officer was questioned about
being the "ghost" for an
undercover, who recorded the
incident. But a supervisor
said the audio quality was not
good enough. The file is still
"in the cloud," the officer
testified.
Another
officer repeatedly said "I
don't recall" as to how many
people he arrested, and
whether he'd thought Rivera
had a shattered eye
socket.
The parties will
submit final arguments up to
15 pages double spaced, then
Judge Rakoff said he will
rule.
The case is US v.
Rivera, 07-cr-430 (Rakoff)
