SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 15 –
Brooklyn Dumpling Shop has an
automated, zero-contact
concept. It also now has an
American with Disabilities Act
lawsuit against its location
at 131 First Avenue in
Manhattan.
On
April 15, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Ronnie Abrams
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
The
plaintiff Carlos Ruiz Florez
is wheelchair-bound. The
complaints include
inaccessible tables at
exterior sidewalk dining area.
The parties say they'll try to
settle it, but may need a Rule
34 ADA Land Inspection.
Judge
Abrams said she would sign off
on the case management plan,
and set a next proceeding for
June 24.
The case is Ruiz
Florez v. 131 First Ave LLC,
et al., 21-cv-9550 (Abrams)
