SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 9 – Angelique Olaechea
sued the City Of New York for
gender discrimination and
retaliation. At trial, she
won.
On May 9, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Ronnie Abrams
held an oral argument. Inner
City Press covered it.
The
City wants a ruling
notwithstanding the verdict.
The plaintiff, understandably,
opposes.
After hearing
argument, Judge Abrams urged
the parties to try mediation,
saying that at least
preliminarily she does not
think the evidence adduced at
trial was insufficient as to
mitigation of damages.
The case is
Olaechea v. City Of New York,
et al., 17-cv-4797 (Abrams)
