Man Accused Of Fentanyl in Mount Vernon Is Denied Bail by SDNY Judge Broderick

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - The Source

SDNY COURTHOUSE, May 22 –   Miguel Antonio De La Cruz Rodriguez is accused of conspiring to sell two kilos of fentanyl in Mount Vernon.

On May 22 he requested freedom on bail from U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Vernon S. Broderick. Inner City Press covered it.

The U.S. Attorney's Office argued that in light of the defendant's lack of legal status, he has significant incentives to flee.

The Federal Defenders, citing both Dr. Anthony Fauci and CNN Dr. Sanjay Gupta, pointed to the risk of COVID-19 in the MCC.    Judge Broderick, determining that he is in fact a flight risk, denied bail. The case is US v. De La Cruz Rodriguez, 20-cr-147 (Broderick).
