SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 13 – Marky's Martial Arts
wanted to build up its
taekwondo business and so
hired a web firm that said it
specialized in just that, FC
Online Marketing.
But then FCOM
sold the same website to
Marky's competitors. A lawsuit
followed.
On July 13, U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Debra C.
Freeman held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it.
The
defendant did not show up - to
make sure, Judge Freeman asked
when Inner City Press called
in, Who is that? Inner City
Press, not a participant,
going on mute. The plaintiff
made its own inquiry.
Judge
Freeman is at the stage of a
damages inquest but said
Marky's and its law firm had
not provided enough
information.
What is this data
base, she asked? And how many
hours of legal work, by whom,
at what rates?
The plaintiffs
have been given until July 23
for one last shot at providing
the information.
The case is
Marky's Martial Arts, Inc. v.
FC Online Marketing, Inc.,
19-cv-3363 (Carter /
Freeman)
