SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 23 – Raheen Davis, a
Federal inmate who has
assaulted a prison guard, on
September 23 repeatedly said
that ex-President Obama is
trying to kill him.
U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Lewis A. Kaplan said, "I'm not
sure at all that he's nuts."
In the courtroom were a dozen
U.S. Marshals, and Inner City
Press as the only media.

Federal
Defender Mark Gombiner, who
during the delay in starting
the proceeding talked about
the NBA playoffs with Davis,
said he didn't think that
Davis was not competent to be
sentenced.
But then
Davis started talking about
threats to him from Obama, and
being barricaded in his
cell.
Judge
Kaplan, who presided over
Davis' trial more than a
decade ago, said it was
possible Davis' statements
were intended to get him out
of all remaining charges, as
he is being re-sentenced. He
gave the parties 60 days to
brief on whether he has the
discretion to go forward
without a psychological
exam.
Judge
Kaplan has preceded the
proceeding with an order that
"Defendant shall be produced
with respect to his pending
2255 motion and, in light of
the government's agreement
that his conviction on Count
Three should be vacated,
possible resentencing is
scheduled for September 23,
2020 at 2:00 pm in Courtroom
23B of the Daniel Patrick
Moynihan Courthouse." Inner
City Press went to
attend.
As the proceeding
ended Davis continued to try
to speak and was surrounded,
firmly but non violently, by
Marshals. He was taken out,
presumably to the MDC is
Brooklyn.
This case is US
v. Davis, 05-cr-1157 (Kaplan)
